Case Study

ONESTOP, Hull

We were approached by a franchisee owner of ONESTOP Hull, to complete an electrical installation within a tight timeframe to ensure the brand's timely entry into Hull City Centre. Due to unforeseen delays, the project had been on hold for an extended period, leaving us just two weeks to start and finish the project before the planned deadline.

Key challenge(s)

Our highly skilled team identified a number of key challenges to this project during our initial survey and project scope.

  • Upon starting the project, we realised all the plastering and finishing works had been carried out beforehand.
  • The installation was completed under a tight deadline in January, which meant limited daylight hours impacted visibility, and the cold weather made working conditions more challenging.
How we overcame the challenge(s)

Whilst planning the project, our team impliemented the following solutions which allowed the project to be delivered and completed on time, with minimal disruption and additional expense.

  • We surface-mounted all electrical components and integrated cable trays and conduits into the overall design. Where needed, we carefully routed cables behind walls using cable rodding techniques and repaired any areas as necessary.
  • We provided both lighting and heating equipment to create a comfortable work environment and ensured that all team members wore the appropriate PPE at all times. To maintain well-being, we also scheduled extra breaks so everyone could warm up and make use of the welfare facilities.

The above meant we could complete the project on time and with minimal impact to our team.
